Dual-Chamber Transmutation Box — Original Handmade Wooden Vessel with Brass Adornment | Metta-Blessed™
A powerful, original wooden creation — rich with age, patina, and purpose.
This rare, handmade wooden box bears the unmistakable character of early- to mid-century craftsmanship.
Its body is carved from solid, weighty hardwood — likely oak or teak — and adorned with hand-cut brass appliqué motifs, each one fastened with tiny brads that have softened with time to a warm, golden patina.
The structure is robust yet timeworn, revealing slight warping of two feet from natural aging of the wood — a testament to its many years of service. It sits firmly on two corners, balanced through the strength of its design.
The surface shows the subtle polish of decades of handling, and the faint scent of aged timber lingers when opened.
Inside, this piece reveals its true magic:
• Two upper compartments — perfect for separating energies, crystals, herbs, or intentions.
• A hidden lower void — a shadow chamber beneath the trays, ideal for deeper transformation, anchoring spells, or transmutation rituals.
The dual levels are a symbolic alchemical process: intention (upper) meets the unseen (lower). It serves beautifully as a Transmutation Box, Charging Vessel, or Spirit Offering Chest, capable of housing sacred objects that require containment and energetic refinement.
Every element — from the hand-hinged lid to the individually nailed brass work — feels entirely original and touched by human craftsmanship rather than mass production. The brass has oxidised naturally over decades, forming subtle green traces of verdigris, enhancing its mystical appeal.
Suggested Uses
• Transmutation of crystals, sigils, or written affirmations
• Charging or grounding ritual objects
• Energy refinement through dual-chamber practice
• Ancestor offerings or shadow work integration
Condition:
Authentic aged condition with light wear consistent with its decades of existence.
Two feet slightly uneven due to natural age warp (see photos), though the box stands stable overall. Brass details show age and patina; all original nails and hinges intact.
Ritual Preparation
1. Cleanse your space and the vessel
• Choose a quiet time and place where you will not be disturbed.
• Light a gentle candle (white or gold) and burn a cleansing herb or resin such as sage, frankincense, or palo santo.
• Hold the box in your hands and speak aloud:
“I cleanse the corners of this vessel, the dual chambers, the hinge and the brass adornment. I release any residual vibrations not of Highest Good. So it is.”
• Visualise pure white-gold light flowing around and through the box, carrying away any old imprint.
2. Charge your intentions
• With a clear mind, meditate for a few moments on your sacred purpose for this box: transmutation, integration, duality, transformation, or whatever your heart draws.
• Write a short affirmation or intention on a small scrap of parchment (cotton rag or naturally-coloured paper). Example:
“In this vessel I honour the dance of light & shadow, the alchemy of my soul. I anchor my clarity, release my limitation, embrace the transmuted self.”
• Fold the paper and place it in one chamber of the box.
3. Populate the dual chambers
• Decide what you will place in each of the two compartments (upper / lower). Typical usage:
• Upper chamber: what you are calling into being, the light, the outward form.
• Lower chamber: what you release or transform, the shadow, unseen potential.
• Place your chosen items: crystals, sigils, herbs, symbolic tokens.
• Then, if you like, leave a small space beneath (in the “hidden lower void” of the box) for deeper refinement or anchoring.
The Binding Ceremony
Begin by lighting the candle and taking three slow, deep breaths.
1. Invocation
“By the flame of clarity and the brass heart of this vessel, I call forth sacred alignment. All energies here align with the Highest Good of my journey. So it is.”
2. Sealing the duality
• As you gently close the lid, say:
“Here meet the Upper and the Under, the visible and the hidden, the seed and the root. May their union bring wholeness and transmutation.”
• Place your hand upon the top of the box and feel the wood and brass beneath your palm.
• Visualise a golden ribbon of light wrapping around the box three times (or any number that symbolises completion for you), front to back, sealing the energies inside.
3. Affirmation of stewardship
“I am the conscious steward of this vessel. I honour its stillness, its dark and its light. I hold space for what is emerging, and I release what is being transformed.”
• If you wish, mark the date with an inscription or attach a small metal tag to the box: e.g., “Bound MMXXV / Metta-Blessed™”.
4. Anchor and ground
• Place the box in its designated resting place (sacred altar, meditation shelf, bedside table, etc.).
• Sit quietly for a minute, hands on thighs, feet firmly on the ground, and say quietly:
“As this vessel is anchored in body and earth, so is its energy anchored in Spirit and Time. I walk in awareness, I move in transformation.”
• Extinguish the candle.
Ongoing Care & Activation
• Whenever you engage with the box (open it, place something inside, remove something), pause for a breath and speak: “I honor what is entering / departing. May its passage serve highest transformation.”
• Cleanse the box once a lunar cycle (or when it feels energetically heavy) with smoke or sound (singing bowl, chime).
• When you feel the box has gathered enough momentum, you might perform a release ceremony: open the lower chamber, remove the old, thank it, and symbolically let it go (bury, burn, or release to water) — then close the chamber anew, affirming a fresh cycle.
